Modern workwear, like the people who need it, has a tough job. It needs to be strong enough to handle a range of difficult work conditions yet flexible enough to allow bending, squatting, climbing and more. It needs to be durable enough to survive a daily pounding yet comfortable enough to wear all day. In other words, it needs to be as capable as its wearer.
We understand the requirements of constructing quality workwear. After all, we’ve been designing durable workwear since 1873 when Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis patented the use of copper rivet reinforcements with durable denim, leading to the first manufactured waist overalls … what we now call blue jeans.
But we’re not in the 1870s anymore and it was time to modernize our workwear with a collection focused on lasting performance and improved fit. To do so, we launched an extensive field study and talked to the men who wear workgear to see what it was they needed, what they wanted and what their jobs demanded. The result is our newest update to Levi’s® Workwear, constructed to meet the requirements of the modern workingman.
Taking full advantage of new innovations in fabric technology and clothing design, the collection includes a slew of performance-enhancing details:
-Superior durability in Martindale abrasion tests.
-Elastane for greater comfort and give.
-Improved wicking for breathability and temperature control.
-Reinforced belt loops.
-Wide, deep pockets.
-Scratch-free (no rivet) pocket reinforcements.
-Strong, felled seams.
We’ve also incorporated the athletic fit into our utility pants and jeans, offering more room in the thigh and seat for increased maneuverability and ease. From top to bottom, this is truly the most practical, versatile, comfortable and durable line of workwear we’ve ever produced.
